The special manufacture Roma line, introduced in 2014 and crafted entirely in-house inside a separate, special atelier at Schwarz Etienne’s Manufacture in La-Chaux-de-Fonds, has an annual production of only 50 pieces!

Schwarz Etienne, originally founded in 1902, is an artisan boutique brand that makes some of the most elegant and emotionally rich high-end pieces with classic proportions. The special production “Manufacture Roma” line is the epitome of high-end watchmaking.

The design of the case is very sensible and timeless at 42 mm. The dial and movement hand-finishing works are exquisite and can rival some of the best large brands (such as Lange) and independent masterpieces. Furthermore, the movements are entirely made-in house, and all of them have a four-day power reserve.

Each piece is meticulously crafted and finished by hand. For example, the frosted and guilloche dial finishing on these pieces takes longer than the entire watch of many brands. It is extremely expensive and time-consuming to create these pieces, hence the ultra small production. Due to this small production level, the pieces are sold out each year through specialty retailers and dealers in Europe at full retail price.

All the screws are mirror-finished. The base plate features sand-blasted matte finishing. The anglage (beveling) finishing on the edges and sinks of the jewels are absolutely gorgeous and are of independent masters’ quality.
