The Luxury Watches of James Bond

The Luxury Watches of James Bond

From the novels to the movie screens, the thrilling adventures and classic, masculine style of James Bond have captured millions. More than suspense and sensuousness of the character and stories has traveled from the page of the novels to the silver screen. Bond’s fancy cars are certainly eye-catching, but there is consistent interest around his collection of high-end timepieces.

James Bond’s creator, author Ian Fleming started writing Rolex luxury watches into the novels beginning with the 11th book, and continued featuring this brand in the rest of the original editions (there are 14 in total).

Once they reached the silver screen, starting with “Doctor No” in 1962, the adventures always included the luxury watches of James Bond. The movies have featured 007 wearing Rolex, Seiko, Omega, and other watches with unrevealed branding.

The earlier James Bond films almost exclusively featured Rolex watches on 007’s wrist, with a variety of Rolex Submariner timepieces. Seiko was more prevalently used in the next batch of films. Many of the Seiko watches were equipped with special tools and weapons installed by Q. And the luxury watches of James Bond have saved his life in many a film.

When Pierce Brosnan became Bond in the 1995 “Goldeneye”, his watch was by Omega. This brand was used as James Bond’s watch of choice throughout Brosnan’s career as Bond, and into Daniel Craig’s – a transition from the Omega Seamaster Professional to the Seamaster Planet Ocean automatic. In the 2012 “Skyfall” movie starring Craig, Omega remained the featured brand of James Bond’s timepiece. In November 2015, the next Bond film will arrive, “Spectre”. Omega has returned 007’s admiration with James Bond branded timepieces, and for the Spectre movie, it’s a limited edition (only 15,007 produced) Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M.

With all of the sophistication and luxury of James Bond style, JZandF.com primarily offers timepieces from watchmakers of the old world, such as Leroy and De Bethune. We offer a wide variety of timepieces that will make wonderful additions to any watch collection, and add James Bond-like classic masculine elegance to your look.
