Complete work of mechanical art and a very cool dynamic complication! Very limited and small production. High Complication Piece. The papillon(papillon is French for butterfly, where the two retrograde hands resemble the wings of the butterfly) movement is the signature design piece of Pierre Kunz and completely changes the way we read and interpret time. This is one of the most visually striking Pierre Kunz watches ever produced. So many details on the dials – the multilayered dials, with the sapphire crystal plate, appear to be “floating”.
The watch has a very cool bi-retrograde flyback hour (on the left side), and flyback minute (on the right side). The hour hand starts at 12am on the top, and as soon as it reaches 12pm, it jumps instantaneously back to the top and starts again. The minute starts at 0, and instantaneously jumps back when it reaches the 60 minute mark.
The movement is very prestigious in-house Pierre Kunz movement, and parts of the module are supplied by Franck Muller Watchland. Very quality movement indeed, with fantastic finishing, which is shown via the open display back.
The original matching alligator strap is brand new and it has the Pierre Kunz buckle.
It is still the most current model and the full size 42mm width is a very desirable men’s full size. – very manly, contemporary and masculine for a casual dress watch.
Comes complete with inner, outer boxes, open papers, as well as a original pin-pusher for adjusting the moon-phase.
