The company created its very own tourbillon movement in 1995 and participated in the International Watch Fair at Basel, Switzerland in 2006 with an original, oriental tourbillon platinum and diamond watch with an ornate facing that featured a dragon and phoenix in playful combat. A succeeding line followed, with a bi-tourbillon in 2007, the minute repeater tourbillon model in 2008, and the first Chinese double-axis stereoscopic tourbillon arrived in 2009.
2013’s Wu Ji went a step further, offering a double-axis stereoscopic bi-tourbillon in a beautiful, traditional design.
For over 50 years since their establishment, Beijing Watch Factory has manufactured over 15 series of mechanical and quartz movements with 22 million timepieces produced. Each year, several Beijing Watch Factory pieces attend the International Watch Fair and receive high marks amongst their European counterparts – unheard of amongst other Chinese watchmakers.
Equipped with the leading Swiss tooling machines combined with Chinese equipment, the level of detail that goes into the manufacturing is staggering. Each individual screw is made in the 100,000 square meter facility in the Chinese capital. With 600 employees and just three master watchmakers, Beijing Watch Factory is one of the smallest, most elite groups of watch manufacturers in the world.
All watches are produced completely in-house and hold exclusive, independent intellectual property rights and core technologies. The brand holds a rich historical background and emphasizes it in their tradition of innovation, exceptional technology, and high quality. More than one million mechanical movements are produced and sold each year and 10,000 mechanical watches were sold in 2011, making them one of the best-selling and well-regarded Chinese watchmakers in the luxury wristwatch world.
Although their tourbillons and other complications are manufactured in a separate workshop, all watches are assembled under sterile room conditions on-site and undergo rigorous testing before being released for sale.
The company also aims to produce a range of high-quality, mid-class timepieces to serve a clientele looking at mid-market price points. These timepieces are a striking range of classic, executive, sport, fashion, and casual styles and stand out against their competition.
