This is a visually striking high-complication piece that features an annual calendar, chronograph, and moonphase. It’s an interplay of circles and curved lines. It is also a masterful blend of multiple noble materials – the watch case is made of grade-5 titanium, the bezel is made of Franc Vila’s proprietary high-polished DieHard Extreme Steel, and the rotor is made of 18K rose gold for both decoration and winding efficiency. The design is both sporty as well as visually satisfying the stimulating. The dial has a multi-layered approach where the base is made of mother pearl, then white lacquer is painted over it, to create a shiny reflective pattern. The black center dial is made with hand-guilloche. The expensive time-consuming process for this dial alone costs more than many of the Swiss watches in their entirety!
The unique-shaped case is a beautiful interplay of brushed and high polished hand-finishing. One can appreciate the contrast of the darker titanium case and the lighter high-polished steel bezel.
Amazing workmanship on case works. From the above links, and from a quick Internet search, you can see that Franc Vila’s focus is on super high-end complications that retail for $150,000 to $250,000. It is one of the very few brands that devotes that same amount of attention and quality to the cases and movement finishing, regardless of whether it is a $250,000 watch or a $20,000 watch. Hence, this type of quality finishing makes this watch a fantastic value for connoisseurs.
It’s a large watch, featuring 47mm in diameter, it’s the ultimate luxury sport/casual piece, but can also make a strong statement in a business meeting.
It features a sapphire display back to view the movement and the “Gold concept” solid rose gold automatic rotor that all automatic Franc Vila watches have. Through the sapphire crystal display back, you can see the beautiful Cote-de-Geneve and perlage decorative patterns, and mirror polished gears, finished to perfection. Amazing workmanship!
